About our school and committment to students
Claudette, a professional dancer at young age of 9 continued with her dancing and music and became interested in becoming a professional dance educator and as a young teenager began her teacher training in San Antonio, Texas. She taught for American School of Dance before opening her first dance school in Vancouver. She has continued to teach and adjudicate for regional and national workshops for Dance Masters of America, NADAA, INDA and Dance Educators of America. She has had the opportunity to teach in workshops in Canada, Montana, California, Nevada and throughout the state of Washington just to name a few. She taught ballet and tap at nationals in Las Vegas for Dance Educators of America July 2009: teaching small frys *(6 -8 yrs) ;juniors (9-12) teens (13-15) and seniors (16 and up). A "delightful experience" she said. She has been contracted to teach in Montana for Regionals this spring of 2010.
The goal of our studio is to make everyone's dance experience a rewarding and exciting one with positive reinforcement and a strong commitment to artistic integrity as well as stressing importance of good technique. Though Claudette has had many students pursue a professional dancing career (Cruise Ships, Broadway, Dance teachers etc.,) she also wants her parents and students to know "dancing is for everyone!" To move to music makes the body healthier and makes one feel "happy". Recreational dancers are always welcome. Competition is not for everyone and it is not required. Students from 3 years through adult are always welcomed whether you are a beginner or a pre-professional dancer--there is a place for you.Claudette enjoys to teach to choreograph and inspire.
